    Cooling fan problem 2002 rsv

Can anyone shed any light on this

Went out for a ride today, bike went well....as usual.
I noticed it was running a bit hot in traffic, the fans did not cut in.
Got home and left it ticking over without turning it off.
Fans did not cut in, got too hot so turned it off.
Turned the ignition on about 5 mins later and the fans came on.
Started it up and the vans stayed on untill temp dropped to proper level.

    ??

had same problem few weeks back it was a faulty fan switch,it would b worth checkin the wiring on the fans aswell just too rule it out.....try cleaning connections on the switch with wd 40......i had too bridge the switch with a couple of spade connectors and cable keep the fans on all the time till i got a replacement

yep that and the relay can play up..a;ways make sure coolant level is topped up

short out the switch to see if the fans cut in then try shorting across the relay terminals to make sure everything working ok..as above clean all the terminals
