    Exhaust removal to grease link

I have a 2008 rsv, want to grease the suspension links. The exhaust link pipe does not allow the extraction of front suspension link bolt.
Question is it posible to remove the exhaust without undoing a header from the engine? If I have too undo an exhaust at the ex flange which is better front or back (or both). I guess that I will need another exhaust gasket as it would need a new one to seal. Thankyou to anyone that can help, Darryl

    Hi Darryl,
Am on the same job myself. Shame they didn't put the bolt on the linkage the other way round or move the header pipe just a little to allow the bolt to come out.
What started out looking like a simple job is getting more involved with more stripping to do. Let me know how you get on. Good luck!

Andrew (RSVR 2004): Now finding myself dismantling more of the bike than I'd originally intended to try to get the front suspension linkage bolt out on the rear shock absorber assembly.
If I undid and removed the first part of the exhaust that bolts into the head on the rear cylinder down to the connecting spring then the bolt would still be covered as, as far as I can see, it's the next portion of exhaust that goes into the collector that is the problematic one.
So……..now unhooking the fairing to allow access to the collector in the hope that I can leave the exhaust headers in situ and, by removing the collector, access the blasted bolt.
It seems no-one has suggested this so I am assuming I am wrong. Any help and guidance would be much appreciated. Cheers. Andrew
