Saw this..Some of the bits were perilously close to new prices
    (without the warranty).
I've seen some people play on the waiting list for parts and pitch their prices very close to OEM with the temptation of immediate delivery..Depends how desperate you are to get back on the road I suppose..

Can recommend this guy, bought a part off him this week (doh! too embarassing/painful to explain what and why). 1/3rd off official aprilia price. Part was as new. Guy took my call on Bank Holiday and posted to me on Tuesday, arrived Thursday - bike back up and running today.

Fair enough it was a non-mechanical part so don't need any warranty but escaped the woes of all those on here who order parts
and have to wait for eons for goods to turn up.

IMHO if he's got the part you need its a great service, knowledgeable and efficient. As far as I know the only breaker of undamaged RSVs in UK......that's got me wondering why though

Big dollars in breaking the RSVs down now...OEM parts are so expensive that breakers can near ask what they want for their bits n bobs...demand is there and the prices get paid it seems.

Off to pick up a speedo sensor this morniong from a guy who's breaking a Rsv..16 plus he says I can rummage around in his other bits to see if I can find anything else I need.. That's cheap as most breakers are wanting 50 +

So who is willing to buy a new bike and then knock it out for spares and what do you think the overall profit will be and time scale to get to cost of purchase, yet again the business man in me rears its ugly head

Breakers have been doing this for many years..I can remember a Bradford breaker stripping a then brand new Honda CBX 6 straight out of the crate for spares.
A magazine once worked out how much it would cost to build a new bike from brand new factory supplied spares, and the cost was out of this world..

So it must be worthwhile to do it with popular models especially Italian bikes which may not have the spares back up of the big Jap manfacturers

yeah its just the bits that are left over you are stuck with and the time scale it takes to sell them let alone storage costs and this is before mr dick head customer phones up wanting a left handed screwdriver (not available from aprilia)

It was RIDE (i think) magazine and it was a CBR which they reckon would cost 20,000 if you bought all the parts necessary to build one
