Hi all, haven't posted on here for a long while so thought I would share some modifications that I have made to the mighty RSV4 Factory that I purchased new, ran in and turned into my new race bike. I am running it in the F1 Superbike class & BEARS and am still going to race the RSV Mille R that I put a Colin Edwards engine into in the Pro-twin class. Racing starts here for me in about 3 weeks.
The V4 Factory was an amazing bike from standard but after the old Mille R it was taking some time to get use to, especially the race starts, the bike has become known as the 12 o'clock bike on the start line
Ok, the mods go like this, Brisk spark plugs, HM Quickshifter, Performance Friction Brake Pads, aprilia factory race ecu, full Akrapovic Titanium exhaust with carbon fibre end can, Starlane Max Biaggi replica triple clamp kit with the 27.5 degree off set, K-tech DDS20 fork cartridges, K-tech 35DDS racing shock, loads of Pro-Bolt Titanium bolts, Robby-moto SBK rear sets, PP tuning fold up levers,520 chain and sprocket conversion, Crutiata full race fairings, PP Tuning crash protectors but with custom made ends, custom made front fork protectors, Driven swingarm block protectors and BST carbon fibre wheels with ceramic bearings, I think thats all!
HBR (Holland Brothers Racing) ran a test day last Monday and it was a set up day for the V4 and the Mille R & for myself as I hadn't been on the racetrack for 6 months. All I can say about the V$'s Oops I mean V4 is "OH MY GOD"... it is totally transformed, it is sooo light feeling and turns in sooo well, even at high speed it is unbelievable. The K-Tech suspension is bliss to ride on, it is so controlled and bump compliant. I think all the mods have contributed in harmony and can't say that one alone has made the amazing difference. I was very worried that by making sooo many changes and at such an expense that I might not be going in the right direction with it all and doing the right thing. I can only imagine that this is what a REAL SBK feels like to ride, minus the engine of coarse!
There are a couple of other thing I could do, but it is time to stop spending on mods for a while and GO RACING
I am getting some photos back tomorrow from my photographer so will put some up if I can remember how, but in the mean time you can check a few previous photos out on www.teamapriliaracing.com
Take care out there and ride safe!
