You need to speak to Griff (Fusebox) or Alain (Dr Rossi) , what Griff doesnt know about Aprilia's aint worth knowing and Alain can programme any ecu to do almost anything (Well he's failed to get mine to make coffee but I'm sure he'll sort this soon)

Kristian, you need a custom map tailored for your bike.

the boys speak the truth fella!
A down loaded mate will again be a comprimise again ie same as the standard eprom map but slightly adjust ...maybe!

A custom map will optimise the fuelling for your bike properly and well worth the effort ..i promise!
    hope this helps?

When you still have the original eprom in (sport854) you schould change that at least to a RP58.
You are in for a big suprise

Yes you have to open the ecu and have a look.
The first 2 eproms are quite bad.

Fuelling is off and ignition is conservative.
The RP58 is quite a nice one to start with and cheap to come by.

If I had one of the first two, how do I get a better eprom. directly from the dealer or ebay?

Kristian, I run an eprom configured by Dr Rossi (Its based on an RP58), my bike is a 2000 model (which is essentially the same as yours).

If you tell Alain what airbox and end can you have he can burn you an eprom to suit for a very reaonable price (You wont need to sell a kidney for it )

Get one from Dr Rossi, I did and the bike revs smooth from tickover to redline

Have yet to re dyno, cos now the clutch slips (hopefully too much power, LOL)

What difference does changing the chip have on the bike? I have a 2000 with standard chip, K and N filter and after market exhaust. Just wondered if it is worth doing.

    Yes it's worth it.
The olders Eproms have poor throttle response and ignition it quite conservative.
A replacement RP58 will set you back around 25 Notes and will brighten you're day.

Even smoother to get a personalised one thow

    DrRossi,
Is it easy to find out what chip I already have? I currently have a 2000 RSVR with standard airbox, K&N filter, harris pipework with a pair of fuel silencers. It has a power commander at the moment but I am looking to remove that. How much would you want for a custom chip to suit this bike? Would I need to get anything rebalanced/set up after the chip is installed?

    Cheers,
    Alan.

You have to open your ECU to see what you have.
    Have a look Here.
    http://home.comcast.net/~sl_mille/dyno-install.html

If you have a PC you still can use it to get the mixture spot on for your configuration.
    Every bike differs a bit.
If you have one of my Eproms you should load a zero map so it won't interfere with the alterations I made in the fuel maps.

Yes it is best to have your bike setup after changing the Eprom.
Allthow my eproms comes with a easy install and adjust manual and 9 out of ten need no futher adjustment.

For info about my eproms read your PM

    Cheers Alain
