    H.I.D fitment

Ok,question for all you out there that have fitted a HID dip conversion on a 2002 Mille.

I originally secured the finned ballast box to the side of the plastic headlight surround with sticky back velcro, this was good for a while until I started hearing clunking noises on bumpy roads.

Turns out the velcro has come unstuck and the ballast was rattling about on it's wires under the plastics, obviously going to re-think now so I'm wondering how did you fix yours?

I got mine behind the clocks with a cable tie round it and tied to frame somewhere. Solid as a rock and never moved. You can just see the bottom of it but I got some carbon fibre sticky stuff and covered it with that and it looks ok. I wouldn't trust velcro on its own for the reasons you've experienced!

Thanks for all the reply's,I'll take the front off and see if I can cable tie it.

The velcro was good, still attached nicely, the problem was I think ,any heat generated had softened the glue sticking the velcro to the alloy casting.

Pity really as it was nicely tucked out of the way.

Not the sort of thing you want getting caught in the steering that's for sure.

Dipped light is good, very good, I've also done the dipped beam mod with a diode and the high beams just put two small orange puddles on the outside of a large pool of daylight.

I'm seriously thinking about upgrading the mains to a high output HID system, the only problem is where to fit the ballasts.

Every bike should come with these fitted as standard when you consider the performance potential these days.
