Guess it's the usual thing, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

From my standpoint they look good on BMW cars but I can't see a lot of point on a bike.

But as I say, that's just my personal opinion

I helped a mate fit some Angel eyes to his Audi A4

They looked ok but steamed up constantly as soon as the outside temp dropped a bit.

For me there is deffo a point of 2 much bling.
I like trick but understated but then with looks as good as mine i don't need to bling up the bike to look pretty.

I saw them fitted to an R1 and they looked ok (twin headlight setup) but I'm with the others - don't do it Tim and when I had my beemer with halo lights they used to steam up all the time and they were factory units.

Spoonz, was going to ask - hows the 848 going, is it still putting a smile on yer face and how does it compare to the Aprilia now over time?

To recap .................................... NO TIM DON'T IT!!

The Ducati 848 experience has been a good one mostly.

Machine wise it's been 100% reliable and only problems have been Pro tyre denting my rear wheel fitting a tyre and clocks misting (cured using anti fog inside.)

Ownership wise i discovered a problem for me being tall and that is the seat is like an ice rink. because of my height and the very narrow tank it's difficult to use the tank as a brace with your legs.
Hence all the braking force tends to be taken by the arms/wrists. So much so that i developed Rsi and Carpel tunnel problems in the pyrenees where ther downhill braking forces are worse. I completely lost feeling in 3 fingers of my left hand and the palm which lasted over 3 weeks. Made it uncomfortable and sometime dangerous because i couldn't feel the bars or lever.
The fix is the DP Neoprene seat which your bum sticks to like Glue.

It still makes me drool to look at and it's a very sorted bike fueling/motor wise.
As a comparison to my Rsv i would say the Rsv has the edge on build quality but the Ducati motor is better fueled and feels more refined.
For it's 849 cc's it's stronger than you would think and will lift the front much more than my rsv did but it can get a bit slappy if your on it on a bumpy road.

In Conclusion, No regrets but also not night and day different from the rsv really to ride.

sounds mostly positive bar the pyrenees experience (that would have been a crappy feeling indeed having to ride with your hands like that). I'm surprised about the build quality ( I get you're saying it's not poor on the Duc) as I would have expected it to be a little better if not on par with the Ape, I rode the 848 last year on a test and absoloutley loved the bike - it made me look like a far better rider than I am I'm sure & it is a very pretty bike indeed.

    cheers for the reply.

Artfully done LEDS on the other hand can be tasty..........angel eyes look and sound a wee bit gay in the nicest possible sense of course.......

I dunno, I love ratty old bikes which go a lot better than they look, last thing I want is to draw attention to me or my bike but hey......
