    Slipper valve

Can someone point me to its location, I'm pretty sure the little begger is at fault for my clutch problems. Bang it down the box and the rear wheel skips but give it the beans and it slips like buggery

right hand side near the throttle bodies white thing in between 2 black hoses shouldnt have to take anything off to change it but it helps to take the mid panel off should only be able to blow or suck through it one way

As camngetit says, trace the pipe from the clutch up towards the tank and you will find a white plastic connection. Pull the lower pipe off and you will be able to remove the valve and check on its operation (there is an arrow on it from memory for direction). Remember that the slipper action will only operate on a fully closed throttle. I'd be surprised if it was causing your clutch to slip on the power however. Have you had an oil change recently? Might also be wise to pop the clutch cover itself and check the diaphragm behind it for any tears or splits. If you put the bike on the sidestand you can check this without losing any oil.

Is this also known as a non-return valve? The reason I ask is, the thing I think you're talking about, on my bike is making a loud and fast ticking noise. On tick-over and on the move up to about 3000-4000 rpm you can clearly hear it... not normal.... I think?

You're right, I don't think it should make a noise. I noticed it a while back and kind of ignored it, but the dealer noticed it during the 12,000 mile service but didn't know what it was. I've traced the noise to the non-return valve at the front of the bike just under the plastic cover by the right handle bar. Noisy, annoying and my friends 2007 RSVR doesn't do it

    Any help please?

Yes it's up front, in the genuine aprilia parts it's listed as: 13 - AP8104594 (Front body - Duct) Anti-return valve

That's the little beast that making a load of racket.

as said previously a faulty valve won't make your clutch slip under load you can completely remove the pipe and the clutch still won't slip.

as also said get you clutch cover off and check the clutch
