    Wheel spindle nut size help?

    Folks,

I'm looking to replace both my front and rear spindle nuts on my 2000 RSV.

They are both M25 x 1.50mm. However, almost everywhere I've seen selling them states the front one is 30mm socket sized and the rear is 32mm?. Why the difference in socket size if the actual nuts are both the same size?.

Also, will a rear nut fit the front spindle does anyone know?. I realise that might sound like a daft question but there's a place online selling rear anodised ones for half price and I was wondering if I bought two if I could fit one to the front and one to the rear considering they are the same size nut albeit different socket sizes?.

Hi pat, both M&P and Busters are doing them for 9.00 ish :-

But apparently the reason the rear is a 32mm is because it requires a higher torque figure to tighten to the correct setting. The front is a lower torque setting. So you could use two rears, one on the front and one on the rear if you wanted to but not two fronts as the front one isn't beefier enough. Not sure if the rear nut would look strange on the front to be honest although the images on the websites of those Evotech ones showing fronts and rears in different colours look identical.
