    180 vs 190 clearance

I currently have a 180 2ct in the back of my Mille but would like to put a 190 in there instead, the only problem is that even with the 180, there is only 3-4mm clearance from the chain and i'm worried that a 190 would rub despite being the standard size, anyone else have this problem? if so what can i do?

i have had both 180 and 190 pirelli diablos in mine and have had no clearance issues, imho it handles better with a 180 anyway

It does depend on what brand tyre you fit and what profile it has, a few have had issues but it's not the same for everyone. Why do you wanna do it, it's only curbside appeal as it should turn quicker with a 180!!

My last 3 bikes have all had 190's so i guess that's what i'm used to, i've never had a problem making a 190 turn.

As cowelly says, depends what brand of tyre you fit. However, sometimes even the same brand and type of tyre has a slight variation in size when it comes out the mould. I've had about 5 previous Michelin Pilot Power 2CT's all 190's, on my bike over the past few seasons and never had an issue. But the last one I got fitted rubbed the chain a fair bit. Took slight chunks out the side of the tyre but eventually wore away enough so it didn't touch anymore. Concerning at the time but nothing drastic really. Annoying more than anything.

02 RSVR and I'm running a racetech 190 on the rear, and for me its so much better with the 190. The drop in is a bit slower which i like. I have no issues with clearance, and 4/5mm wouldn't bother me.
