    Clicking and now not starting

New battery on the bike in November. Used over winter a few times. Always connected to an optimizer. Went out the other day problems it starting, it was taking a couple of presses and hoping, then it would fire up. It will not fire up now. Any suggestions please? Clicks though. Batt amp on the screen is 11.8V even with the optimizer on.

On the subframe top rail from memory (left as you sit on the bike) , probably just far enough back to be out of sight of the seat opening.

Found it, rear right as you sit on it. The bike started when I put a screw driver across the terminals. I guess it needs a new starter relay/solenoid?

I had this problem to. Reading your post helped diagnose the problem. Just wondering for changing the solenoid over,do you just disconnect the battery and change it? I only ask because Ive just got the bike and worried about the clocks resetting. I've got a 08 RSVr.

That's right mate the battery will need disconnected, but I have heard of clocks resetting, I'm not sure but I think that's only when the keys are left in

Mine had keys in, removed battery leads for 24hrs + no problems. Just had to reset the clock and rev limiter.

Just remember after putting the battery connectors back on, turn the ignition on for more than 15 seconds without starting the bike. Then turn it off again then fire her up. Apparently it stops the battery draining as quick, from what I have read!!

Yea, my redline is at 6000 now. I'll have to sort that. My solanoid should come in the post tomorrow. I'll make sure to do that with the ignition, Cheers again.

It's not a red-line (or a rev limiter) it's just the shift indicator that gets reset to 6000. This tells you how to set it if you don't know: http://rsvzone.com/forums/showthread...oard-Functions
