    Another Small (hopefully) Problem

I had a problem with my battery last week, I have put a new battery in over the weekend and that is all sorted, however, I have another problem when riding now.

It keeps cutting out when approaching a stop, i'm assuming this is because it's dropping to too lower a rev. If for example, it idles at 1500 revs, when you rev it, it'll then drop to about 900 revs and then recover to 1500, i'm hoping this happens on all RSVs. However, since it's been stood over the winter, it now seems to be dropping too low and cutting out about 20% of the time.

Could increasing the idling speed help this? or will it still drop too low? - if so, how do I increase that speed?

Or alternatively, I put new slip on exhausts on towards the end of last year and haven't had it remapped yet, but now that the wadding is starting to burn away within the exhausts, could this now be the problem? I am planning to get it remapped at some point when the weather gets warmer, but should this become a priority?

    Any help appreciated.

Hi Tom . . . . classic 'throttle bodies need balanced' problem. You cannot adjust the idling speed physically (well, you can in fact, but it's set at the factory and the throttle stop screw is then sealed - not advisable to tamper with it). Best course of action is to book in with Griff for a tune up . . .
