    Tyre recommendations

My RSV is currently on Michelin Pilot road 3, which I'm sure are fine for road use, but I plan to do several tracks days.
What's a good tyre for fast road blasts/trackday use for the RSV1000R?
    Longevity isn't an issue.
I would like some water clearance abilties in case the trackdays end up wet.
    Is a 180 better than a 190?

    Hi
I use metzler M5s have loved them ( on my 3rd set) I only use the bike for b-road blasts and track days including a soaked snetterton and they were faultless. I know the racetecs are excellent with slightly less mileage but poorer wet ability. I also run a 190 rear have had a 180 but couldn't really tell much difference although I'm not Lorenzo.

Having tried Metzler, Pirelli and Michelin, I've found that the Pirelli's seem to work best on the RSV.

What's the current Pirelli sports/trackday option?
I notice if I buy Diablo Rosso II, I would be getting a free Dainese back protector.
But is the Diablo Rosso II a sport/trackday tyre?

Either the Diablo Supercorsa or Diablo Rosso Corsa. Check Pirelli's website to compare and decide which might suit you best.

I use racetec scrubs 190/120 can't go wrong unless it rains!

I haven't really got on with Bridgstones since the BT50 (yes I'm old), but their new sport touring tyre is supposed to be the business. See MCN this week.

I have always used Bridgestone on my bikes, but recently moved to Continetal sport attack2. The grip these have offered meen i won't go back.

Brilliant. In the wet and dry. I'm doing a track day at the end of June too at Donington park on them. People reckon you can run easily at intermediate levels on them at track days. Have a read up on them on the internet. They look good too !!!
