    My New Renegade airbox.

Right I have managed to find and have delivered my new Renegade air box for my 04 Mille.

However I was gutted to open the box and find no instructions. The kit is in 4 parts. The carbon plate, The big foam filter, a section of rubber hose and a small L shaped bracket with a threaded screw inside.

Right I need help. Does anyone have any instructions or pics that might help me.

    Is everything there I need??

Have you taken your standard airbox off yet
Just a straight bolt on job with a slight relocation of the breather pipe.

Not yet I have just opened the box with the new kit in. Is it really that easy?

What the 5" section of rubber hose in the kit for?

Hose is for re-routing the breather hose but do yourself a favour and run it in to a catch tank or a small K&N filter

Just remove the hose that comes off the head to the airbox, fit new hose and terminate in a small bottle or little K&N type filter...

OK. Is there any anything else I need to be aware of before starting. do I need to relocate any air box sensors etc.

Is this an easy task or is it going to be major surgery to get this on?

You could use one of these for the breather

I would fix it too the carbon base plate if i did it again.
The small bracket and screw are for the airbox sensor

where can you get the small K & N filters?

The sensor will fit below the plate, same place as the standard airbox.
Small filters from Halfords 13mm bore about a tenner. Use a small piece of 13mm copper pipe and fit the pipe on one end and the filter on the other

Can you expect much oil through the breather? I am thinking of a small bottle just for piece of mind?

You will only get oil out if it has been overfilled to start with. If you mount it on the base plate the oil will just run back down the pipe.

+1 on that ,all i get is a slight mist that only comes out about an inch from the filter if you look really closely that is.

Does the carbon plate bolt straight onto the original air box mounts?

Do I need to do anything with the throttle bodies or will the plate slot straight over.

Sorry for all the questions, but I am just trying to get a mental picture in my head before I start the job?

Just fitted one to my 2000 mille on sunday, took about an hour all in,and i was in no rush, is dead easy once you have removed the airbox is obvious what you need to do. On the 2000 mille the plate bolts onto the top of the bodies using 6 bolts, replace the breather hose, jobs a carrot. Took bike out for the first time last night and sounds like the world is ending. Induction noise rules!!!!!!!!!

Do you use the fittings and bolts that housed the original air box. The reason I ask is because I didn't get any bolts with my new kit.

Yeah use original bolts, come out dead easy and if yours is same as mine when you take the top of the original airbox off and remove your filter, just above the bodies the bolts are recessed into the plastic, i just reused those. When you have undone the bolts the housing lifts straight off. Breather pipe is obvious to change. I had a haynes manual handy and was quite useful.
look at attached thread for pic of breather pipe, should answer your question
