    Bad day on the bike

chain snapped this morning and ripped a hole in the side of the engine near the front sproket? It is on its way to Southern Cross for some TLC? anyone had this happen or rough cost?

Bloody hell, I'm really sorry to hear that. Was your chain old, slack or what? Any lessons for the rest of us here?

I see a pattern imerging here thats two engines gone west. Bad luck chap. On the up side, if you decide its too much to fix I need some more fairings. See if you can borrow a loaner from SC and I'll get the coffees in at Loonies.

    Cheers.

Did you have the tyres fitted on loose wheels or was it a ride in ride out fitting I always re-fit my own wheels that way I have to tension my chain and i know it's going to be done correctly, some garages just dont spend that extra few minutes to make sure it's done properly

Glad it didn't end up any worse than it did mate

I've had 2 rear tyres fitted at the same place and both times the chain was like piano wire when they gave the bike back!! They check AS they're tightening the axle nut up but not once it's tight, and we all know how our rear wheels like to creep back on tightening!!
