    coolant temp sensor

Had my coolant temp sensor go faulty today, got the bosch number off it and matched it to a corsa c 1.2 petrol. Was quoted 40 from aprilia, got it for 9 in the end from a local motor factors.

For anyone who is interested it was the blueish/grey sensor 2004 model.

    Bosch p/n 0280130093

    intermotor p/n 55526

The bosch sensor has been superceeded by a Nippon Denso type since about 2005 by Aprilia. The original Bosch part was prone to spontaniously throwing random temp figures and making your bike think it was either at 300 degress when it was cold and vice versa.

Nippon Denso kit comes with a new loom plug and lead as well hence the price. My Bosch unit went a year or so ago with the fault i mentioned.

Is the sensor the same on the older model, pre04?

Does this has anything to do with the FU.. EFI showing all the time, the sensor on the back cilinder? Like described here

Pre 04 bikes have 2 temp sensors. Front cylinder sensor feeds the dash, rear feeds the ecu/fans etc.
They are essentially the same sensor though as the later bikes but post 04 there is only 1. (dash gets temp from ecu via CAN)

So probably this should fix the EFI problem, because I get it once every few months, have to nudge the wires a bit and then its oke. And if this one has better cables this should be it

    Or am I missing something?

Can't say if it will fix your problem. If nudging the wires cures it then it sounds like a connection issue.

Was going to go for the upgraded sensor, denso parts are much better than bosch imo, the one i changed it for is made by intermotor will see how this holds up for now. Has anyone found an alternative oil pressure sensor?

Does anyone know if you need to take the engine out to replace the sensor or is there a special spanner, there's realy not much space to play around?!?!? I,ve just ordered a new denso sensor and connector and I need to know if I can replace it on my own or do I need to take the bike to the shop?

    Thanks!
