    Both!!

However, the removal of the brown connector is the one most likely to cause you to not have the need to call on your recovery agent.

IMO do both but at least do the brown connector one.

    Both as Amb67 say's.
    Priority 1 - brown connector
    Priority 2 - white connecter

Do NOT use crimp connectors the only way to ensure proper vibration and resistance free joints is with solder and insulate with heat shrink or a good quality insulation tape.

With this mod in mind and my bike not starting as it should I did the dash read of the volts.
On idle with no lights is shows up as 14.1 and with lights on it's 13.6-13.7. so it would seem its all ok. Might even had this mod already done. will check this weekend

Just to add my 2 pence worth- when you solder the yellow wires together, try not to touch the striped bare ends so you dont put any oil from your skin on it, and rather than trying to hold the ends of the wire side by side to solder them, push the ends of the wires into each other like you would inter lock your fingers. this way the wires stay together, and you can drop a little flux onto the joint and solder them together.

Had to take out a bit extra wire on loom side as wasn't very good condition

    Easy to follow instructions

    Question regarding white connector mod.
There are two red/black and two red/blue. For example, red/blue needs to be connected it negative on battery. But there are two of them, is there any difference if I connect only 1 wire vs 2 wires to negative? Is it better to connect two?

Second question. Because my mod is already done (only 1 wire connected ), if I disconnect negative pole on battery, do I disable this mod? I want to check voltage again (before vs after).
I have a feeling, that after mod by voltage has dropped at idle for 0,4V. Is that even possible? My battery is aprox 3 years old.

amb 67 , thanks for this post.
I did asked in my thread( if that is what its called) for this problem and so far your post answered my problem, only did I just checked on my wires ( the yellow loom has already been done before by someone), the white plug that you talk about in your step 2. is in my case only supported by one green feed coming in from the regulator and out come two red and white ones ( those are the ones that smoldered).
the other two (red and black) seem to be fine at the moment.
Could you please give me any advice for this?
Here the link to my post with a photo of the problem smoldered plug on RSV 1000R 2001

    Thanks a lot
